M42 - The Great Nebula in Orion

Description

M42 - The Great Nebula located in the sword of the Orion constellation, just below his belt. A large, diffused nebula that can be visually seen in binoculars, turns into a grey cloud tinted green, studded with diamond like stars when viewed with the human eye thru a telescope. Only time exposures reveal the nebula in all of its true colors. The nebula complex is located 1600 light-years distant and is part of the Orion molecular cloud which covers almost the entire Orion constellation. This nebula is birthing stars and is the largest star nursery closest to our solar system. Imaged with the Celestron Origin Blk II observatory.
